CVSKL is one of Malaysia’s first private cardia and vascular hospital in the region. Established in November 2017, It is an integrated cardiac and vascular hospital specializing in comprehensive modern care for patients with cardiac and vascular diseases backed by a sterling track record of achievement and expertise to ensure the highest standards of evidence-based and professional care.

Located in the transportation hub of Kuala Lumpur Sentral with easy accessibility by public transportation like LRT, MRT, train and taxi or even airport direct KLIA Express within the city’s thriving heart. CVSKL is strengthened by 5 Centres of Excellence ie Cardiac Diagnostics Centre, Arrtythmia Programme, Heart & Lung Centre, Structural Heart Programme and Vascular and Endovascular Centre aimed at making a dedicated centre of excellence for your heart. Having all the expertise in single place, CVSKL focused on you – means that you are not getting one opinion but with all the special hand-picked specialists work together for you.

Hybrid Operating Theatre – CVSKL is one of the very few centres in the region that houses a hybrid operating theatre that equipped with advanced medical imaging technology, enabling simultaneous percutaneous and surgical intervention procedures in the same location. The hybrid operating theatre allows for a smooth transition to an open procedure by providing all the necessary capability and personnel in one space that enable greater options for patients with complex disease states.

Cardiac Catherisation Laboratories – CVSKL has 2 fully equipped contemporary cardiac catherization laboratories that can perform various procedures, including coronary angiograms, angioplasty and implantation of pacemakers/cardioverter-defibrillators.

Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP Lab) – The EP Lab provides the latest equipment for diagnosing and treating abnormal heart rhythms that houses advanced imaging capabilities for complex catheter ablations and the latest intracardiac monitoring and recording equipment. This advanced technology can perform body surface mapping that can precisely identify and map areas responsible for arrhythmia and a pacemaker analysing system to efficiently conduct pacemaker tests and follow-up care.

Revolution CT Scan – CVSKL brought in the latest Revolution CT scanner which is designed to make patients feel more comfortable with its advanced features. The technology designed to reduce noise levels, improve low-contrast detectability and routinely reduce dose up to 82% for patients of all ages. The scanner also provides personalized patient information and videos via gantry displays. Patients will have a less stressful experience as the scanner delivers rapid and comprehensive assessment with its wide detector, fast table speed at up to 300mm/sec and a more spacious environment with the 80cm wide bore. The scanner also provides high quality imaging with whole organ coverage, enabling 4D imaging for all anatomies to visualize vascular flow, organ motion or kinetic properties.

Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) – a minimally invasive procedure that provides images and information about the digestive tract and its surrounding tissue/organs, including lungs, pancreas, liver and lymph nodes. Equipped with the Fibroscan, also known as Transient Elastography which is a tool used to assess liver stiffness without human body intrusion (non-invasive). EUS is CVSKL’s advanced technology in the Gastro Centre that led by professional gastroenterologists that expert in gastrointestinal system ie oesophagus, stomach, small intestines and colon as well as hepatobiliary (liver, pancreas and gallbladder) diseases.

  1. Arrhythmia Programme – Special programme for patients who suffered the Atrial Fibrillation with a minimally invasive procedure to correct arrhythmia by disabling unwanted electrical signals ie Ablation. Electrophysiologists will work closely with other experts, including cardiologists and cardiac surgeons to understand patient’s heart arrhythmia and recommend the treatment options that will work best. Cardiac ablation works by scarring or destroying tissue in the heart that triggers or sustains an abnormal heart rhythm. Cardiac ablation usually uses long, flexible tubes (catheters) inserted through a vein or artery in your groin and threaded to heart to deliver energy I te form of heart or extreme cold to modify the tissue in heart that cause an arrhythmia.
  2. Cardiac Diagnostics Centre – With the latest Revolution CT Scanner that combines a series of high quality images taken from different angles around patient’s body and uses digital processing to create cross-sectional images (slices) of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside body in order for the cardiologist to perform a calcium score to survey all the vessels of the heart for a heart attack risk, to identify vulnerable deposits of plaque in the heart & vessels, early detection of stroke, early detection of cancer in major organs, perform non-invasive virtual colonoscopy to detect polyps and early cancer in the large bowel, helping avoid the discomfort and inconvenience of endoscopic colonoscopy.
  3. Heart & Lung Centre – At CVSKL, the thoracic team treats aortic root aneurysms which can be caused by atherosclerosis or “hardening of arteries” by the build-up of fat and cholesterol causing the aortic wall to break down and become weak. a) Valve sparing aortic root replacement is a surgery that repairs the portion of the aorta closest to the heart (the aortic root), while preserving the patient’s own aortic valve. B) Aortic root replacement involves the removal of section of aorta and aorta valve with an artificial tube (graft), and aorta valve is replaced with a mechanical or biological valve. Personalised external aortic root support surgery (PEARS) also can be done to patients with Marfan syndrome which is a genetic disorder of the connective tissues of which the most serious complication involves the heart and aorta. It involves surgical implantation of an individualized mesh support around the aortic root and the ascending aorta. By using a 3-dimensional printing utilizing the imaging data, a plastic model of the aortic root unique to each patient is produced that perfectly fits to each individual patient’s aortic root shape.
  4. Structural Heart Programme – Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implant (TAVI) is a minimally invasive procedure to replace the aortic valve in patient with aortic valve stenosis which caused the heart failure or sudden cardiac death. TAVI may be an option for patients who are at intermediate or high risk of complications from surgical aortic valve replacement (open-heart surgery).
  5. Vascular & Endovascular Centre – For patients with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) where tears or ruptures of the aorta wall happened that caused the complication. Generally an open vascular repair will be performed to make a large cut or incision in to patient’s abdomen where the aneurysm exists. The area damaged by the aneaursm is the separated surgically from the main part of the aorta and replaced with a synthetic tube also known as aortic graft. Alternatively an Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) which is a minimally invasive procedure that performed by inserting a stent through the area that has the aneurysm to restore blood flow. EVAR has been shown to reduce blood loss, operative time, length of hospital stay, mortality and morbidity compared with open surgical repair of infrarenal abdominal aortic surgery which is typically 2 to 4 days stay in hospital compared with open heart surgery of 7-10 days. Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) which is the formation of blood clots in lower legs that can give rise to complications if left untreated that may cause a pulmonary embolism. At CVSKL, there are few options to treat DVT: Blood thinners where Anticoagulants are used as a common treatment for blood clots. Other options are Compression stockings, Thrombolysis, Stent Replacement and Vena cava filters.
