Electroacupuncture is similar to traditional acupuncture except the needles are attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips. A similar technique called transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation or TENS, uses electrode that are taped to the surface of the skin instead of inserting needles can be used to treating patients who are fear of needles or a condition that prohibits them from being needled


Gua-Sha involves repeated pressed strokes over lubricated skin with a smooth edged blunt instrument, lightly scraping the skin to produce a slight petechial and improve circulation. Moxibustion or “Moxa” is a Traditional Chinese Medicine therapy which consists of burning dried mugwort on particular points on the body.
